Antivenom Built for a Defined Region
Venom composition varies even between populations of the same species and across different geographic regions, so an antivenom developed without regard to regional characteristics may not perform as well as it needs to. Effective development of snake and scorpion antivenoms should rest on the medically important species and the epidemiological needs of the target region — an approach that can be applied to regions across the world.

RasFab® — Developed for Iraq
Six years of field, laboratory and technical research led to a heptavalent antivenom designed around the medically important species of Iraq and the wider Middle East. A proprietary scorpion antivenom is now in development on the same approach.
